View was fantastic. The seats are not actual seats, but pews made a long time ago when people were a bit smaller than they are today. Not much wiggle room but the experience was well worth it!

  • Main Floor Seats

    -

    Sections 3-6 make up the main floor center and are the largest sections at the Ryman Auditorium. These seats are centered to the stage and are home to some of the best seats for seeing to the Opry or any other show. The closest seats will be located in sections 3 and 5 which extend all the way to the stage. For the ultimate near VIP experience, rows AA and BB of section 3 are as close as you can get.One of the biggest concerns about sitting on the main floor are the obstructed views due to the poles. Although the poles are out of the way for most seats, we suggest trying to sit in row M or closer. As you move further back the poles and balcony become more of a factor. If deciding between the back of the main floor and balcony seats the balcony typically provides clearer views and better sound. One factor that makes the back rows a little better are the TV’s that are located at the front of the balcony overhang. If you are looking for extra leg room, you won’t find much at the Ryman Auditorium. The seating is church pew style with little room between rows.

    The middle of this row is good. Toward the larger numbers, there will be a pole with slight obstruction, but generally, this is a good directly center oriented section. This row is about 4 rows from the back but still feels close to the action.

Because the Ryman is an intimate venue, you'll have a great viewing experience no matter where you sit. In general, sitting in the front half of the center or side sections will give you the best view. If you're looking to sit in the side seats, rows B-M in sections 1-7 will typically provide the best experience.

If the seat in the diagram or on a ticket says "obstructed view" take that seriously and don't bother purchasing that seat. It means that there is a big, blocky post between you and your view of the stage. Not a simple post, a chunky post. It is not easy or comfortable to look around it either.

Arrive at least a half-hour early for the performance. We got there twenty minutes early and with the security checks, we still didn't get to our seats until 15 minutes after the show started. Quality entertainers, as you would expect in Nashville at the "Mother Church of country music." Just be sure to arrive early.
